Brad Holstein is a 2007 C/1B with a 6'1'', 215 lb. frame from Metairie LA, who attends Jesuit HS. He has a big, strong body that can be firmed up with work. Holstein ran the 60 in 8.13 and threw 71 mph during drills with a best pop time of 2.11. He had a nice game time throw of 2.14 and got rid of the ball cleanly. He has soft hands receiving the ball and looked like he worked with pitchers well. He'll need to work on his lower half quickness to catch as the game speeds up. Offensively, Holstein has a long and strong swing and has some back side collapse at contact which gives him some lift. He hits from a still start with his hands, which leaves him late getting started often but it did result in Holstein staying inside the ball well and showing some pop to the right centerfield gap. Holstein is an excellent student.
