Andrew Schwartz is a 2009 OF/3B/P with a 5'10'', 175 lb. frame from Sunnyvale CA, who attends St Francis HS. He has a strong, thick build on a stocky frame. Schwartz showed some abilities that translate to college baseball. He showed strength with the bat and some bat speed, with an aggressive swing. His swing plane is sort of sweeping and long through the zone, with a pullside approach. With timing he was making good barrel contact and showed some extra base hit pop, with a hint of more as he gets stronger. Schwartz has a good arm and moves aggressively to the ball in the outfield. He also can contribute as a 3rd baseman, though left field would seem to be the best fit for him. He is a strong student too.
