Richard Coltey is a 2009 1B/P from Fair Haven Union HS, residing in Fair Haven, Vermont, with a 6'2"/240 pound frame. He hits from a closed stance with solid bat speed. Richard has lift and strength in his swing with good raw power. He centers the ball well but needs to stay balanced. Coltey has short arm action from first base with an accurate arm at 78 mph. He has soft hands around the bag but needs to work on having quicker feet. Richard pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with loose arm action. He has effort in his delivery and throws slightly across his body. Coltey works in and out well and his fastball has arm side run.
