2006 California Showcase-Aug 26 & 27
Paul Tremlin is a 2007 RHP/OF with a 6'4'', 170 lb. frame from Quartz Hill CA, who attends Quartz Hill HS. Selected as a Top Prospect at this event. Tremlin is long, lean and built like a greyhound. He looks like a high jumper with those long legs. Tremlin showed best on the mound in this event, but flashed very interesting tools as a possible two-way college player. On the mound he pitches from a over the top slot and has a quick arm. He repeats his delivery well and pitched with a no-nonsense approach, coming right after hitters. His fastball topped at 87 mph, sitting in the mid-80s and has a lot of late movement. He kept the fastball on the hands of RH hitters with that late movement. Tremlin's curveball is a potential out-pitch. It has 12/6 shape and good spin and depth. Follow him closely on the mound. At the plate he has a quick bat and a short slashing stroke. He has some feel for hitting the ball the other way, in addition to showing an aggressive pull approach in the BP. His arm is strong and plays well from the outfield, registering up to 85 in the workout. He is physically projectable and could really burst on the scene this spring.
