Troy Sutherland is a 2008 RHP/1B with a 6'5'', 210 lb. frame from Madison AL, who attends Bob Jones. Named to Top Prospect Team. Sutherland has a big frame with a strong body. He has a tall build with a very projectable build. Sutherland pitches from a high 3/4 arm slot with a medium length arm action. He has good arm speed and pitches with max effort. He uses drop and drive style mechanics and has some head jerk in his delivery. Sutherland gets good late life on his fastball with armside run on it. He throws a heavy fastball but struggles to consistently command it because of an inconsistent release point. He flies open early which causes the inconsistent release point, but it can be fixed with a little work. Sutherland throws an 11/5 curveball with sharp break on it and occasional late break. He is a solid prospect on the mound and is a very good student.
