Demond Tubbs is a 2009 2B/SS/OF with a 5'10'', 140 lb. frame from Cookeville, TN, who attends Cookeville HS. Named to the Top Prospect Team. Tubbs has a lean and athletic frame with a lively body. Tubbs has good speed in the sixty and quickness on the bases and in the field. During the infield workout he seemed a bit tentative and nervous, but he still showed great body control. However, during game action he looked more relaxed and performed well showing plus range, and he made some very athletic plays, especially going to his left. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from a wide base and uses a no stride approach. Tubbs has a line drive swing plane with solid bat speed, and he showed the ability to hit to all fields. Once on the bases, Tubbs shows great instincts and quickness that can change the game. He is a very athletic player with a very high upside.
