Chris Larsen is a 2008 RHP/2B/OF with a 6'3'', 175 lb. frame from Moline, IL who attends Moline HS. He has a nice, lean pitchers build with some projection. Larsen has a compact arm action that he keeps behind his body and doesn't show the hitter the ball. He throws from a drop and drive delivery with late back side collapse and lacks balance at release. Larsen's fastball was steady at 81-83 mph and was pretty straight. He threw a low 60's curveball that lacked velocity but that he had good feel for and spotted well. Larsen has some deception in his delivery, but his command and raw stuff would be better if he used his height and length better and stayed tall in his delivery. Larsen is a good overall athlete who swings the bat with some power and moves around the field well. He is a good student.

Chris Larsen is a 2008 RHP/IF/OF with a 6'3'', 180 lb. frame from Moline IL, who attends Moline HS. He has a lean projectable athletic build. Larsen has a balanced delivery with a quick arm circle in back that hides the ball well. His fastball was very steady at 83-84 mph with good running life. Larsen's change up often was 77 mph, not much velocity differential from his fastball, but when he took a little more off it was a pretty good pitch. Larsen's curveball was best when he threw it in the upper 60's and got a bigger, deeper break; at higher velocities it tended to back up. Larsen's quick arm and projectable build make his velocity projectable and he showed a good overall idea of what he was doing on the mound. Larsen also took his turns with the bat and showed some bat speed from an open stance and was able to turn on some inside fastballs. Overall, Larsen is a good looking young follow on the mound and should continue to improve. He is also a good student.
