Matt Horton is a 2007 OF/SS with a 5'10'', 165 lb. frame from Eureka MO, who attends Christian Brothers HS. He has a live athletic body and some developing strength. He worked out both in the outfield and infield and showed very good arm strength at both positions. Horton seemed more comfortable and his actions more natural in the outfield and he runs well enough to cover plenty of ground out there. Horton is a switch hitter who showed a much more polished and balanced approach left handed. He has a spread stance and a rock back load left handed and takes a full, aggressive swing at the ball. Horton stays on plane with the ball much better left handed and made solid pull line drive contact. Right handed, he has a long upper cut swing with an extended one hand finish and little balance, although he has some raw bat speed. Horton is a very high energy, high effort player who hustles everywhere and does everything 100%. He is also an outstanding student.
