Matt McGee is a 2008 3B/2B/RHP from Brentwood HS in Franklin, TN with a 6'3", 190 lb. frame. Matt has an ideal tall athletic build. On the mound Matt really knows how to use his fastball with a good downhill plane and run that makes him deceptive to hitters. Matt shows solid command, but is still developing his off-speed pitches. He is a little stiff in his arm action and could add alot of velocity if he were to relax his arm some. At the plate Matt shows good pop and raw bat speed in his swing. He has a tendency to open his hips up early and this can take away from his power. Matt is a good all-around athlete with a great build to work with. He should attract the attention of many mid-level colleges.
