John Zule is a 2008 SS/3B with a 6'0", 180 lb frame from San Antonio, TX who attends John Paul Stevens HS. John has a very nice athletic build with good present strength. At the plate John shows good raw hitting tools with plus bat speed and the ability to keep his hands inside the ball. He tends to have some mechanical breakdowns though as his whole backside collapses often creating inconsistent contact. He needs to work on improving his overall balance and staying upright and through the ball. In the field John best projects at third base where he has solid range and a good feel for the game. He will need to work on speeding up his release some. John is a strong student that should attract the attention of many mid-level college programs.
