2005 Pitcher/Catcher Indoor Showcase
Colin Cimala is a 2006 catcher from Burr Ridge, Illinois, with a 6'2", 200 lb. frame. He is a solid receiver behind the plate with good hands. Cimala has good footwork behind the plate, and showed good lateral movement to both sides with good blocking skills. He has solid arm strength for his age, but has a long arm action that will add to his pop times. He is a right handed hitter with good balance in his swing. He has a slight rock back load with a rotational approach. Cimala has good bat speed with strength in his swing. It is hard to tell raw power in a batting cage, but we feel Cimala can put a charge into some balls from gap to gap. Cimala is a strong 2006 catcher with good present tools, and may be on the verge of taking his game to the next step. Cimala is also an outstanding student.
