Cody Railsback is a slender and very projectable 6'4" pitcher from Denton, TX, who we’ve seen on a number of occasions. He has very smooth pitching mechanics and an easy, loose arm that really works well. Railsback has three quality pitches in his fastball, curveball and change up. His change up is probably the best of the three. He throws it about 76 mph and has excellent arm speed and deception on the pitch. Railsback’s fastball touched 88 mph from the windup and was 85-86 mph from the stretch. He's been even better! His curveball is 71-74 mph with a big, sharp two-plane break. Railsback repeats his delivery very well, and should be able to spot the ball very well in the strike zone. With the stuff he has, Railsback has a chance to be a high draft pick. With some added movement and greater attention to pitch location, Railsback should become a dominant star college pitcher. Cody is a very good student.

Cody Railsback is a tall slim 6'4/175 RHP from Denton, TX. He really projects in a big way. He showed a nice fluid easy delivery and arm action that produced 86 mph fastballs in Tropicana Field. The fastball has very good life and we've seen a bit better velocity in the past out of Railsback. His arm is nice and loose and it's hard telling how good he might be as he gets bigger and stronger. He showed a good CB in the low 70s and a nice changeup at 76 mph. He's good enough now to help any college in America, but he's going to be much better yet. At 6'4 he could get some serious MLB draft interest if he comes on quick. Cody is a very good student with big time makeup. You can't help but like him. He was invited to the PG AFLAC Showcase in Baltimore and traveled across the country at the last minute to be there.

Railsback is a smooth right-hander with a lean and slender build. He showed a good working arm with a high three quarter arm slot and produced 82-84 mph fastballs with a good change-up that had batters out front early. He also showed a good 69 mph curveball with lots of potential. He is only an '05 and with his 6 foot 3 frame and good working arm he could end up being among the top group of players in his class. He knows how to pitch. Cody is a good student.

Railsback is a right-hander that we have seen before. He has been described as projectable in the past and he is a good example of fulfilling a projection. He has a slim 6 foot 3 body that still has years of filling out and strengthening to do. His stuff has improved and he showed excellent pitching ability in Waco. His arm works very smooth and easy and his body works in sync with his delivery. He has 20 to 30 pounds to add by the time he matures and is already showing good Division 1 potential on the hill. His fastball was clocked between 82-85 mph and has good life. His curveball was 68-70 mph with a very good break and his change-up showed sink at 75-78 mph ! His arm works from a three quarter slot and his arm action was fluid. His body and ability are still very projectable and he should end up throwing 90+ mph with a plus change-up and sharp curveball. He is a top pitching follow for 2005 and we look forward to seeing him some more. Sky is the limit with this right-hander !

Real projectable "05" P/IF with a good arm. We like him best on the mound. Low 80s in Ft Myers will become much better. Good breaking curveball. Outstanding body that will gain more strength and coordination over the next couple years. Keep an eye on him.

Very interesting young 05 who can hit and pitch. Projects nicely with a slender build. Excellent line drive hitter who could end up hitting for good power. Good arm strength. Pitched around 80 with three good solid pitches. Fastball showed good movement, good bite on the breaking ball and change shows promise with a good tailing action, Definite follow.

Railsback is a tall, thin infielder with potential on the mound. He showed a good glove and a playable arm. On the mound he showed a long and loose delivery with a fastball that touched 80 mph, a soft but commanding curve and a good looking change-up in the low 70’s. He has potential as he grows to gain strength and be a real good one.
