Brandon Loy is a 2008 MIF/3B with a 6'0'', 170 lb. frame from Rowlett, TX who attends Rowlett HS. He has a lean athletic body and some developing strength. Loy has very nice defensive tools in the middle infield and is a polished defender. He has quick feet and a quick release and keeps his actions short. Loy has plenty of arm strength for shortstop and threw 88 mph in drills while running a 6.65 60. He keeps the same type of approach in his offensive game. Loy's swing is short and crisp and he's looking to make line drive contact all around the field. He's quiet and balanced and isn't trying to do too much with the ball. Loy lacks the strength to drive the ball hard and he seems to know it, although he has the frame to add some strength and bat speed. Loy is a good student.
