Christopher is a '05 C/OF from Garden Grove, California. He has a strong 5-11/190 lb. frame. He shows sure, quick hands with a short release and a 73mph arm to second with a 2.04 pop time. He handles himself well behind the plate and shows the ability to move his feet and be comfortably loose and mobile. He works well with pitchers and makes a good target. At the plate he hits from an upright stance with a quiet approach to contact. He shows good balance through contact. He is a dead pull hitter and comes around the outer half of the ball at times. He needs some work hitting the outer half pitches, but he has ample time to make some corrections. He hit the ball hard today and could become a very good college hitter. Good bat and good defensive catcher, he'll play at the next level. Christopher is a good student.

We liked Lum more and more as the games were played. He’s the type of player who performs better in game situations than in workouts from our first look. Maybe he just relaxed some and let his natural ability come through. Lum has good upper body strength and good lower body quickness, a good combination in a catcher. He has close to Major League average arm strength and gets his throws down to second base in as short as 1.99 in workouts and 2.05 in games. He hosed a couple of runners in games and was very accurate with his throws. Lum has a short compact swing that takes good advantage of his upper body strength. If there’s anything we’d like to see Lum do, it’s use his lower body more both offensively and defensively. He has strong, quick hips and he doesn’t use them as effectively as he could. He is a very good catching prospect.
