Travis Bonner is a 2009 C/1B/3B with a 6'0'', 185 lb. frame from Los Gatos, CA who attends Los Gatos HS. He has a strong and compact body type that is a good build for a catcher. Bonner has a chance to develop into a nice college prospect. He showed some strength with the bat and a hint of some power potential. Bonner is a timing hitter and actually reacted better in games than he did in BP. He got the barrel to the ball on-time pretty consistently and made a lot of hard contact up the middle and to the opposite field. There is some swing length but Bonner is able to make it work for him. He is also a patient hitter and seems to recognize pitches pretty well. Defensively his feet work behind the plate and his hands are strong. Bonner has solid catch/throw skills that will continue to develop. He is a solid catcher with a chance to hit at the college level.
