Wilson is a 6 foot 5 left handed pitcher from New Mexico with a big body and pitchability. He uses a 3/4 arm slot and throws with mostly all arm. If he gets better usage out of his body we think he will drastically increase his velocity. He showed us an 80-82 mph fastball and a 64 mph curve. He changed speeds and kept batters off balance for 4 straight innings. In fact, he gave up no hits in the 4 innings of work. Although he did not use his front side much, he was still able to consistently throw strikes and throw them where he wanted to. He also plays first base and can swing the bat a little showing a couple nice hits in one game but with his body and pitching ability we like his chances on the hill. He showed athletic ability by running a 6.94 60 in the workout. Watch out for him by the end of the year, we might see a jump in the fastball.
