Travis Martin is a 2009 RHP/1B/3B/OF with a 6'1'', 181 lb. frame from Katy, TX, who attends Katy Taylor HS. Martin has a good frame with long legs and present strength. On the mound he throws from a low 3/4 arm slow with good arm action and arm speed. He has a sound, repeatable delivery and throws with minimal effort and good deception. Martin is a ground ball pitcher and keeps his 79 mph fastball down in the zone with arm side life. He has good control of his fastball, and mixes in a 68 mph curveball and a 71 mph change up. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from a straight away to slightly open stance. Martin has solid bat speed and shows projectable power, especially to his pull side. Even though he likes to pull the ball, Martin still showed the ability to go with the breaking ball to the opposite field. Defensively he has solid arm strength with online carry on his throws. Good upside to his game, and he is a very good student as well.
