Blaze Tart is a 2009 OF/P/1B with a 6'2'', 175 lb. frame from Durham, NC who attends Riverside HS. He has a very athletic, live build with very good present strength for his age and more to come. Tart has very good tools for right field. His fundamentals are well advanced for a young outfielder and he shows very good arm strength with accurate, on line throws. Tart also plays first base and he is much too athletic for that position and probably just plays there to rest his arm for pitching. His tools actually profile as well at third base as in right field and it would be interesting to see him play there. Offensively, Tart has a sound hitting approach and uses his hands well to manipulate the bat head. He has very good bat speed and stays on the ball a long time. His strength gives him line drive power now and when he gets better extension through the ball out front that's just going to grow. Tart is also a secondary pitcher and threw 86-87 mph with hard boring action off the mound from a quick, compact arm stroke. He also threw a tight 74 mph curveball. Tart has all the tools to be a top prospect and he has the right approach to the game; he plays hard and has fun on the field. Tart is also a good student.

Blaze Tart is a 2009 OF/RHP/1B from Riverside HS in Durham, NC with a 6'2", 175 lb. frame. Blaze has a talll athletic build with some room to fill out. He was one of the better looking young prospects at the event. At the plate Blaze showed very good raw hitting tools. He hits from a wide no-stride approach and produces good bat speed. His swing has good leverage and is able to pull and lift the ball fairly easy. Blaze could possibly get even more pop if he works on his trigger and getting more load in his swing. Blaze also showed a good set of raw tools in the outfield. He is very athletic and showed good range and nice raw arm strength. On the mound Blaze keeps everything simple where he throws from a short arm circle with an OH arm slot and nice run on his fastball. He shows simple online mechanics and has very projectable velocity. His off-speed pitches are still developing, but Blaze is a young kid that has alot of time to develop. Blaze looks like a kid that will be a highest-level college prospect and possibly see some draft attention.
