Matt Richards is a 2008 OF with a 5'7'', 140 lb. frame from San Juan Capistrano CA, who attends San Clemente. Richards has a shorter body with a thin lean build. Defensively, Richards moves to the ball well in the outfield and has solid defensive actions. He has some arm strength with some carry on his throws. Richards is a switch hitter at the plate and makes consistent contact from both sides. From the left side he's a slap style hitter with a compact stroke. Smith stays on the ball well and can hit to all fields. From the right side, Smith is a line drive hitter and looks to hit the pitch from the middle to pullside of the field. He is a good baserunner with good instincts. Outstanding student.
