James Ward is a 2007 SS/2B from Norfolk Christian HS in Virginia Beach, VA with a 5'10", 170 lb. frame. James has a lean athletic build and showed good speed at the showcase. (7.23) At the plate James has a simple approach with a short swing that will produce line drives all over the field. There is good hand quickness in his swing, but he seems to get his hands a little tight to his body. If he can get more extension his power potential will greatly increase. In the field James has nice feet and clean actions. He often times lets the ball come to him and he will need to speed up his game some. James showed good fundamental skills and will be a solid mid-level college prospect.
