Sam Murphy is a 2009 SS/UT with a 5'9'', 150 lb. frame from Fallbrook CA, who attends Fallbrook. Murphy has a thin lean body with sloped shoulders. Defensively, Murphy has solid defensive actions with nice hands. He has developing arm strength and made good game throws. He is a versitle defender and has athletic actions and movements to the ball. At the plate, Murphy has a short swing and swings on a line drive path. He uses a contact hitter's approach and can hit to all fields well. Murphy hits the ball where it's pitched and hits a lot of line drives. He has present line drive pop with more power potential in there. Murphy is a very good student.
