Chris Roberts is a very athletic 6-1, 170 lb senior left handed hitting infielder from Wisconsin. He is an excellent runner at 6.71 in the 60, with easy strides and low effort athletic movements. Roberts is the type of player who could play any position on the field. He's a primary middle infielder who looked very good at second base at the showcase. Roberts range and actions are more natural there than at shortstop and he got to some balls that would have challenged upper level players. He has plenty of arm strength. A 6-1 left handed hitting second baseman with power and speed would be a big plus offensively on any team, too. Centerfield wouldn't be much of a challenge athletically, either. Offensively, Roberts has quick hands at the plate and very good raw bat speed. He tends to jump out at the ball and jam himself but the ball jumps hard off his bat on solid contact and he has present gap to gap power that could blossom as he gets stronger and more experienced. Roberts is a national level athlete who you sense is just beginning to scratch the surface of his baseball abilities.

Chris Roberts is a 2006 MIF/OF from Oshkosh West HS in Oshkosh, WI, with a 6'1", 175 lb. frame. He has a lean, athletic build with wiry strength. Roberts is a plus runner, with 6.63 speed in the 60 and very good defensive range both in the infield and outfield. He doesn't have pure shortstop actions but looks very comfortable at second base, where his range, arm strength and size, not to mention his offensive potential, give him some great advantages over a prototypical second baseman. Roberts also looks good in centerfield. Offensively, Roberts is a left handed hitter with very good bat speed and some lift in his swing. He hit a few bombs out in batting practice to show his pull power, which should just continue to improve with strength and maturity. Right now he projects as a gap to gap hitter whose speed should enable him to stretch doubles into triples. Athletically, Roberts resembles a right handed throwing Steve Finley. He is a very good student who has signed with Michigan State.

Roberts is a left handed hitting middle infielder from Wisconsin with high level Division I prospect tools. He has some present upper body strength and strong hands but has plenty of room to grow into his 6-1 frame. One thing we noticed over and over about Roberts is that everything he does with his hands is short and quick. At the plate, Roberts hits from an open to closed stance with his hands close to his body and is very quick and short to the ball. He has lift and extension out front and projects power down the road as he gets stronger. He stayed inside the ball well against live pitching and showed an advanced knowledge of the strike zone. Defensively, Roberts has very quick glove to hand transfers and a short, quick release that hides some of his true arm strength. It looks like he’ll be able to play anywhere in the infield and be an offensive asset at the position. Roberts is a 6.74 runner underway and has plenty of bounce in his step. He is also a solid student. Very good Follow!
