Ryan Bergman is a 2009 MIF with a 5'10'', 155 lb. frame from Yorba Linda, CA who attends Esperanza HS. He has an average frame and a lean body type that will get stronger over the next few years. Bergman is a good baseball player who does everything on the field well. As he physically develops his bat could really start to shine. Bergman is a line drive hitter with a quick bat and a simple, 'hit first' approach. He makes consistent barrel contact and handles all pitches. Some players just seem to always get their hits and he is one of them. Bergman is also a solid defensive player. He showed good infield hands and and a good release that allows his arm to play up a bit. His range is average. Bergman showed the ability to make plays on the move and get off accurate throws. His arm is likely to limit him to 2nd base. We expect Bergman to excel at the college level.

Ryan Bergman is a 2009 MIF/3B with a 5'10'', 150 lb. frame from Yorba Linda, CA who attends Esperanza HS. He has a medium frame and an average, athletic body type. Bergman is going to hit in college. He seems to have some natural hitting instincts and has an aggressive nature. He is hits hard line drives to all fields and does a good job of keeping the barrel in the zone, allowing him to hit all pitches. As he gets stronger he will steadily add some gap power to his game. Bergman runs fairly well and that should also improve a bit in the coming years. Defensively he showed good hands in the infield and a good release. He is a very solid all-around player who has what it takes to be a good D1 player.

Ryan Bergman is a 2009 2B/SS, 3B with a 5'9'', 140 lb. frame from Yorba Linda CA, who attends Esperanza HS. Bergman was one of the younger players in this event and he performed well. He has a wiry, athletic body type and is well-proportioned. Offensively Bergman showed some life in his swing, particularly in his game at-bats, which were much better than his BP round. He is a competitive hitter and impressively jumped on mistakes that were up in the zone. Bergman did a nice job of getting the barrel to the ball and also showed a nice opposite field stroke. He has a good feel for hitting and his bat should continue to develop in the coming years. Defensively Bergman has a short arm stroke and a pretty quick release, which play well in the infield. He is still developing his arm strength at this time. His body control is decent and at this time, Bergman looks to be at least a solid defensive player. He should find his way to most follow lists of West Coast programs.
