Nick Franklin is a 2009 SS/UT/P with a 6'1'', 170 lb. frame from Longwood, FL who attends Lake Brantley. Nick has a lean, athletic build and shows good actions in the infield. His hands work well, fluid movements, quick release and an easy plus arm. He is a switch hitter at the plate and is good from both side. He is short to the ball and makes hard line drive contact. He has gap to gap power and uses all fields. He has very good speed (6.6 60) and uses it well being aggressive on the bases. Nick can also get on the mound an pitch in the upper 80's and we have seen him at 90+ before using varying arm angle. Nick is a top 2009 prospect with serious tools and also a good student.

Nick Franklin is a 2009 SS/UT/RHP that attends Lake Brantley HS and resides in Longwood, FL with a 6'1", 158 lb. frame. Nick has a lean athletic build and is one of the top players in the 2009 class. He will be playing for one of the top high school programs in the country this year and will get plenty of draft attention in a few years. At the plate Nick looks much more comfortbable from the left side. He has a quiet approach with a line-drive swing plane and good bat speed. Nick uses his hands well and can drive the ball to any part of the field. It looks like Nick would do better just hitting left-handed only. In the infield Nick is very athletic with plus raw arm strength. He has a quick release with soft hands and good body control. He has great upside in the field at any position. On the mound Nick is a low effort pitcher with great arm speed and a variety of different arm slots. He has good sink and run on his fastball and really pounds the strike zone. Nick will challenge hitters with his fastball and does not waste pitches on the mound. His curveball has good depth and bite and complements his fastball very well. Nick is a very talented two-way prospect that will attract the attention of scouts for many years to come.
