Slade Heathcott is a 2009 LHP/OF with a 6'1'', 196 lb. frame from Texarkana, TX who attends Texas. Slade is an outstanding two way prospect. He has a great pitchers build and pitches in the low 90's. He locates his pitches well and has an outstanding curveball with late sharp break. His curveball was one of the best at the event. He also mixed in a 78 mph change. Outstanding total package on the mound. He also shows big time arm strength from the outfield and was gunned at 94 mph. He has a good swing at the plate with good bat speed. He drives the ball to all fields and makes hard barrel contact. He looks very comfortable in the box and made hard game contact. Top level two way prospect to follow in the 2009 class.

Slade Heathcott is a 2009 OF/LHP with a 5'10'', 162 lb. frame from Texarkana, TX, who attends Texas HS. Named to the Top Prospect Team at this event. Heathcott was the best '09 prospect at the event. He has a lean, and athletic frame with good speed, quickness, and instincts. Defensively he has great actions in the outfield with plus range. Heathcott has arm strength with online carry on his throws with a quick release. He gets great reads on the ball, and made several top notch plays in game action. At the plate he has bat speed with projectable power. He has a good eye and uses the whole field keeping his hands inside the ball. On the mound he throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with good arm speed. His fastball topped out at 81 mph with arm side life, and he mixes in 67 mph curveball. Heatchott struck out 5 in two innings while allowing only 1 hit. He has great upside to his all-around game, and is a must follow.
