John LaMoure is a 2007 LHP/1B/OF with a 6'2'', 165 lb. frame from Palm Dale, CA, who attends Highland HS. Tall lean, and very projectable body. On the mound he throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with a long arm action and solid arm speed. He throws with no effort, and stays balanced over the rubber. Throws slightly across his body causing more life on his pitches. LaMoure gets arm side tail on his fastball when it is down in the zone, but it straightens out when it is up. His fastball topped out at 70 mph, while he worked in the 75-79 mph range. Mixes in a 1 to 7 curveball at 67 mph with depth. During his 3 innings of work he allowed only 1 run with 2 strikeouts. At the plate he hits from a straight away stance with a short stride. He has a short path to the ball with a quick swing. At times he gets out on his front foot early, but he keeps his hands back with the ability to go the other way. Defensively he moves well to the ball with good reactions and instincts. Two-way prospect who is a good student as well.
