Crosby Slaught is a 2007 RHP/1B with a 6'4'', 185 lb. frame from Santa Barbara, CA, who attends Santa Barbara HS. Slaught has a tall, lean, and projectable frame. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a loose and easy arm action. Slaught has good arm speed and throws with minimal effort. Stays balanced over the rubber, and stays inline to the plate with good mechanics. His fastball topped out at 84 mph with late arm side run. Slaught also mixed in a 68 mph curveball with 11/5 break and sharp bite at times, and a 73 mph changeup with sink. Throws all three pitches for strikes with good command. He allowed only 2 hits during his 3 innings with 1 strikeout. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from an open stance with his hands away from his body. He stays on the ball well making solid contact with a balanced swing. Defensively he showed very good arm strength across the diamond, and had nice footwork around the first base bag. He is an excellent student as well.
