Ryan Giffin is a 2007 C/OF with a 5'10'', 160 lb. frame from Lake Worth FL, who attends Santaluces HS. He has a medium frame with slender features. Giffin moved very well behind the plate and has advanced footwork and good shifting ability. He is athletic and flexible in his defensive actions. His arm strength was solid but he tended to stand up on his throws, slowing down his pop times. Giffin has a good fundamental swing with good use of his hands and some bat quickness for his size. He hits line drives and stays balanced well through contact. Giffin ran the bases aggressively once he reached and showed he had good speed for a catcher. His overall game will improve with more physical strength.
