Christian Grossi is a 2008 LHP/OF with a 6'0'', 146 lb. frame from Soulsbyville CA, who attends Sonora Union HS. He has a lithe, wiry build on a thin, medium frame. Grossi is still physically developing and shows the type of baseball skill level to suggest that when he does start to get stronger he could really burst on the scene as a college prospect. His arm works well from a 3/4 slot. It is pretty quick, with a long arc and good frontside extension. Grossi's pitches have life on them and not many were straight. He is a quality strike thrower and competes well to the zone. His fastball has good movement and he complements it with a good change-up, thrown with feel and nice hand speed. Grossi's curveball flashed as a third pitch. He should make steady development strides as a pitcher in the coming years. At the plate he also showed ability. He swings aggressively, with a quick bat and a flat swing plane. The ball comes off his bat pretty well, with some spin and potential for carry. He stays behind the ball and has a chance to develop some pop if he gets stronger. There is the potential for him to develop as a two-way prospect for some college programs.
