Aaron Bender is a 2008 RHP/OF with a 5'11'', 160 lb. frame from Beaumont, TX, who attends West Brook HS. Bender is a lean and athletic player with a very projectable body. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with good arm action and solid arm speed. Bender uses a simple delivery, and stays online and balanced. He throws with some effort and pulls to his glove side at times causing him to miss location to his glove side. Bender's fastball topped out at 81 mph with very good arm side life, and he mixed in a 70 mph curveball and a 75 mph change. He has projectable velocity, and has very good upside on the mound. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from a straight away to slightly closed stance. Bender uses a toe tap trigger and shows good bat speed through the zone. He keeps his hands back well and uses a line drive swing plane. Defensively he has good arm speed on his throws from the outfield at 78 mph. Very projectable prospect, and he is an excellent student.
