2007 Rising Juniors National Showcase
Chasen Holland is a 2009 C/1B with a 6'1'', 185 lb. frame from La Mirada, CA who attends Servite HS. He has a strong athletic build that is a good catcher's body. Holland is an aggressive hitter with a pull side approach. It is apparent that he has some strength with the bat because when he was on-time the ball exited quite well. There is some swing length but again, with timing it can work for him. He has a chance to be an RBI type of guy in a line-up. Holland is not fast but ran the bases aggressively. Behind the plate he showed good pop-times in the workout though they did not translate to game situations. He is still developing a catch/throw exchange and footwork that works at game speed. Holland showed good effort to block balls in the dirt. Overall he showed some promise behind the plate and should continue to improve.
