Mac Williamson is a 2008 RHP with a 6'4'', 200 lb. frame from Wake Forest, NC who attends Wake Forest - Rolesville HS. He has a big, broad shouldered build with some present strength and more to come. Williamson was a primary catcher until this spring but has made a full-time conversion to pitcher, although he still has college level catching tools. Williamson's arm strength and pitching ability is his future. He throws from a slow paced, deliberate delivery with a long loose arm and little effort on release. Williamson's fastball was consistently 90-92 mph with hard arm side run at times. He showed a feel for both a downer curveball and a change up and both pitches could really develop well as Williamson gets more experience on the mound. Williamson projects very well and it wouldn't be surprising to see him move his velocity up a bit and improve the sharpness on his breaking ball in the near future.

Mac Williamson is a 2008 RHP/C with a 6'3", 210 lb frame from Wake Forest, NC who attends Wake Forest-Rolesville HS. Mac has a tall athletic build and was one of the top performers at the showcase. Until recently Mac had been primarily a catcher, but after bumping 92 on the mound his stock has skyrocketed as a pitcher. On the mound Mac throws from a short compact arm action with a clean low effort delivery. He gets a good drop and drive in his delivery to go along with great arm speed to produce good run and sink on his fastball. Mac has solid command and showed feel for a fairly sharp 11 to 5 curveball. While he is apparently new to the mound you would have trouble believing it, considering how smooth and easy as his delivery is. At the plate Mac has all the tools to be a quality hitter as well at the next level. He hits from a tall stance where he gets good leverage and bat speed in his swing. He is an aggressive hitter who has good present strength in his swing and should be able to hit for a good amount of power in the future. At times he will get a little too long in his swing path causing him to roll over the ball. Mac is a great student who will be a highest-level college prospect and attract the attention of pro scouts this spring.

Mac Williamson is a 2008 C from Wake Forest-Rolesville HS in Wake Forest, NC with a 6'3", 195 lb. frame. Mac has a tall athletic build and was a member of the Team USA National Team this summer. He showed outstanding arm strength behind the plate. (80) Mac is a very aggressive hitter at the plate that attacks the baseball and can hit the ball to any part of the park. He keeps his hands inside the ball well and has very good raw hitting tools. Mac will be able to hit at the highest-level in college. Behind the plate Mac combines his big arm to go along with solid footwork. He looks like a kid that usually has much lower pop times than he showed at the showcase. Mac will be a highest-level college prospect and could see some draft attention next year.
