Aaron Fujiki is a 2008 C with a 5'9", 190 lb frame from Honolulu, HI who attends Mid-Pacific Institute. He has a thick strong build with good athleticism. Aaron is a top catch and throw guy behind the plate. He keeps a low base and has very quick hands and feet. His transfers are lightning quick and his throws are right on the money every time. He receives very well and calls a good game. His pop was a 1.76 with a top speed of 79 mph. Fujiki swung the bat very well at this event. He drove the ball very well and was short to the ball with a line drive swing. He displayed a quick bat and showed good power by smoking a double off the left field wall in the game.

Aaron Fujiki is a 2008 C/OF with a 5'9'', 170 lb. frame from Honolulu, HI who attends Mid-Pacific Institute. He has a strong, compact build and has short arms and legs for his height. Fujiki is as quick a catcher as there is in the country both in his actions and his footwork. His arm strength is good but not a plus but he gets rid of the ball so quickly that he's almost always in the 1.8's, with a low of 1.79. He will eliminate running games at the next level with any help from his pitchers. Fujiki receives the ball very well, too, and presents a very low target for pitchers. Offensively, Fujiki hits out of a crouched stance with a very short line drive swing. He hits quiet and doesn't try to do too much with the ball. Fujiki isn't going to hit with much power but he'll be a high average hitter who can move the ball around the field. He showed an impressive ability to foul off tough pitches and extend at bats. Fujiki is also a surprisingly fast runner, he's 4.29 to first base from the right side and is going to beat out some infield hits and steal some bases. He's the type of player who is going to max out his tools and his tools are the type that play at a premium position.

Aaron Fujiki is a 2008 C with a 5'9'', 170 lb. frame from Honolulu HI, who attends Mid-Pacific Institute. Selected as a Top Prospect at this event. Each report we write on Fujiki is basically the same, with rave reviews of his defensive abilities. Simply stated, there are only a handful of players in the '08 high school class that will compare to him as a defensive player. For that matter, most college catchers fall short of him as well. He is compactly built but athletic and agile. His arm is quick and "on-the-bag" accurate. His transfer, feet, and release are about as quick as a scout will see. Fujiki backs off the velocity a bit in favor of quickness and accuracy. He showed his raw arm strength but pitching at 83-84 mph, and did that pretty easily. He is an exceptional blocker and very good receiver, though it will be interesting to see him catch top top arms at PG National this summer. Offensively he is a spray contact hitter when he is on his game and can be a very capable two-hole or back of the order contributor.

Aaron Fujiki is a 2008 C/CF from Mid-Pacific Institute, residing in Honolulu, HI with a 5'8" 165 lb. frame. Named to the Top Prospect Team, Fujiki has a strong and compact body type. On offense he starts witih high hands in his set-up and hits from a square stance. Fujiki has a quick bat and a quiet, no stride approach. His lower half works well and he maintains excellent balance through his aggressive swing, though at times he does get out of the box late. Fujiki is a spray type line drive hitter. He stays inside the ball well and stays back, allowing him to drive soft stuff to the opposite field. His reactions to balls in the hitting zone are quick because he is ready to hit. Fujiki battles at the plate and does not give away at-bats. He is not going to hit for much power, but should hit for doubles type power in the future and with his 7.02 speed, he could even stretch some gappers into triples. In some senses he brings to mind one of the top catchers in the 2006 class, Torre Langley, especially on defense. Fujiki has very quick feet and quick hands, producing a very quick exchange, allowing him to show pop times in the low 1.9s during warm-ups. He has good arm strength and an accurate arm and in the games he showed the ability to throw consistently in the low 2.0 range. Fujiki also plays the outfield and does a nice job of geting to the ball quickly. He has an accurate arm and understands defense. He is an excellent young baseball player and will make an impact in college offensively and defensively. He plays much bigger than his size and his energy seems to be maintained all game long.
