Michael Tibbetts is a 2007 MIF with a 6'0'', 165 lb. frame from Sandy Hook CT, who attends Newtown. Tibbetts has an athletic frame with a lean build. Defensively, Tibbetts has athletic actions and moves to the ball well. He has solid arm strength with carry on his throws across the infield. He is an upright thrower who makes accurate throws. He has solid footspeed (7.16) which transfers over to his range defensively. At the plate, Tibbetts starts with a wide stance and high hands. He takes a deep load and bars his front arm through his swing. He uses a knee break trigger and stays balanced through his swing. Tibbetts uses his hands well in his swing and has quick hands. He swings on an uphill path and has solid bat speed. His swing has some length to it and he gets the barrel to the ball. Tibbetts has present line drive pop. He is also a very good student.
