2006 Holiday Open
Matthew Schrantz is 2006 LHP/1B from Lecanto, FL with a 6'0", 193 lb. frame. Matthew has a strong athletic build. In the field Matthew showed good actions going after balls, and a short compact arm action on throws across the diamond. Offensively Matthew showed a level swing plane and the ability to turn on the ball easily. He produced consistent solid contact to all parts of the field. Unfortunately Matthew was injured during the first game of the showcase so we did not see him get to pitch, which is his primary position. He shows off solid tools currently that could profile him well for next level.
