Darley is a 5-7, 155 lb infielder from Virginia with some present strength. He's a hustling 100% player who loves to play the game. He's a 7.31 runner who threw 73 mph during infield drills. Darley is a primary shortstop but is better suidted for second base at the next level. Actually, Darley is the kind of player who will play anywhere on the field if it gets him into the ball game. Offensively, Darley has a big leg raise trigger and happy feet, which can leave him late to the ball when starting his swing. He has an aggressive line drive swing and can move the bat head around and make contact to all fields. Darley also pitches and has an effective pitching style. He has a 78 mph fastball and 64 mph curveball and throws a pretty darned good knuckleball around 68-69 mph that he mixes in. Darley throws just hard enough to keep hitters honest, throws strikes and the knuckleball gets the hitters out.

Chaise Darley is a 2006 shortstop/pitcher/outfielder from Portsmouth, Virginia. Darley is a 5'6", 150 lb. athlete who showed good skills both as an infielder and outfielder. He has good overall strength for his size, and good first step quickness that gives him much better speed on the bases (4.5 to first base) than in the 60 (7.51). This kid is a gamer who was one of the top performance players at the showcase and plays above his tools. He’s a front foot hitter with good strength in his hands, and made consistent line drive contact in batting practice and games, including one nice triple into the left field corner. Darley also made a number of diving catches in the outfield. College coaches shouldn’t sell Darley short, this is the type of player they’ll have to drag off the field at the end of practice because he’ll want to stay out and keep working to improve.
