Mark Topper is a 2007 3B/P with a 6'3'', 190 lb. frame from Abbotsford, BC, who attends Yale Secondary School. Tall, extra large frame with good present strength. Topper runs very well, especially for his size, running a 6.97 sixty. Defensively he has nice footwork at the hot corner with good hands. Topper showed good arm strength with solid accuracy. At the plate he is a right handed hitter with an aggressive swing. There is strength in his swing from a slight uppercut swing plane that will allow him to drive some balls. He keeps his hands back well on breaking balls, showing balance in his swing. Topper throws the bat head well. On the mound he throws from an over the top arm slot with solid arm speed. He stays inline and balanced. His fastball topped out at 78 mph, and he mixed in a 65 mph breaking ball with depth. He pitched a very quick inning and didn't not allow a hit in his 1 inning of work. Topper is a very good student as well.
