Roman Calvert is a 2017 1B/RHP with a 6-4 230 lb. frame from Jasper, AL who attends Curry HS. The two way player has a large frame with visible strength. On the mound he has a hip height leg lift, good direction to the plate and an over the top release point. Fastball up to 82mph an curveball with 12/6 arc at 66mph. Feel progressed for both pitches as he went deeper in his outing. At first base he displayed a strong arm, fields with good technique, and threw accurate feeds to second base. At the plate he has an open stance with hands above the shoulder. Leg lift starts stride separation, shows strength at contact when on time, and used the whole field. Good Student.
