There are plenty of similarities between Pullen, a 5-11 sophomore right handed pitcher from Georgia, and fellow top 2007 prospect Patrick Johnson. Pullen is a bit bigger and more physical than Johnson, but their general stuff and pitching styles match up well and they are frequent teammates during the summer and fall. Pullen’s fastball was 84-86 mph in Fort Myers and we’ve seen him a couple of clicks quicker. His very quick arm promises more velocity in the future. Pullen’s strikeout pitch is a 75-76 mph slider with a sharp, deep break that can have batters flailing at balls they can’t reach. Pullen also throws a 74 mph change up that is a quality offering. He mixes up his pitches well and pitches aggressively in the strike zone.
