Tyler Filacchione is a 2007 1B/OF/3B with a 6'4'', 190 lb. frame from Katonah NY, who attends John Jay. Filacchione has a big frame with a tall lean build. He has a lanky body with long arms and legs. Defensively, Filacchione has arm strength with carry on his throws across the infield. He moves around the base well at 1B and can make the picks. At the plate, Filacchione starts with a slightly open stance with a wide base. He has high hands and uses a rhythm approach at the plate. He uses a short load and a knee break trigger to start his swing. Filacchione has a short stroke and has bat speed. He gets his bat through the zone and swings with a slight uppercut. He has present power and will hit for more power as he learns to hit with more leverage and extension. Filacchione has bat control and should hit for a high average at the next level. Filacchione is a very good student.
