Caleb Hollis is a 2019 RHP/1B/3B with a 6-3 215 lb. frame from Mission, TX who attends Mcallen Memorial HS. Big and strong athletic build. High 3/4's arm slot with a smooth and fast arm, uses his lower half well in his mechanics, good downhill plane to the plate, keeps his mechanics simple and repeatable. Mid-80's fastball, topped out at 87 mph, fills up the zone with his fastball, hitters don't seem to see his fastball well, has picked up 8 mph on his top fastball since early June. Change up is his best secondary pitch, very good arm speed and nice fading action, uses it with confidence. Tends to slow arm/body on his curveball, flashed some spin, will need to improve his ability to spin the ball at the next level. Right handed hitter, has a simple timer and shift at the plate, uses his lower half well, has some bat speed and gets the ball in the air, interesting power potential. 7.69 runner, moves well for his size at third base and has plenty of arm strength, showed soft hands at first base on picks. Very good student.
