Brock Hummel is a 2017 SS/2B with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from Oklahoma City, OK who attends Edmond Memorial High School. Lean, projectable frame full of athleticism and fast-twitch muscle, square shoulders with room to fill throughout. Plus runner, posted a 6.58 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, moves well to the ball with quick footwork, balanced range and while charging in, confident actions, fields the ball out front, hands play well at ball and funnel nicely, works to a higher slot with quick transfer, shows carry and strength out of hand on throws across diamond. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and a high back elbow in the box. Small leg lift trigger for timing, stays short and direct to the ball with occasional lift out front in swing path. Consistent line drive plane and has a feel for barrel, sound timing to swing, consistent barreled contact to pull side, contact approach and repeats mechanics nicely. Excellent student. Named to South Top-Top Prospect List.
