Joel Gosda is a 2017 OF/ with a 6-3 185 lb. frame from Hickory, NC who attends Fred T Foard High School. Large build, lean, slender frame, athleticism, and room to continue to fill out physically and add strength. Posted a 7.34 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary outfielder, showed a long, loose arm action, good lower half in throws, and arm strength up to 84 mph with carry. At the plate, started with a wide base, high back elbow, and a toe tap timing mechanism. Longer swing through zone, linear swing path, and an inconsistent weight shift. Additional rhythm and balance would improve consistency at point of contact. Best contact worked up the middle and to the opposite field with strength in frame to drive the ball.
