Alexander Almonte is a 2017 OF with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Lawrence, MA who attends Lawrence High School. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and advanced physical strength proportioned throughout, retains overall looseness nicely. Plus runner, posted a 6.65 60-yard dash. primary outfielder, moves well on feet and glides to the ball, smooth athletic actions, remains balanced through release, loose arm action and gets on top of throws, produces nice carry and ball comes out of hand cleanly with accuracy. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base, even stance, and a high back elbow in the box. Hands start by ear, incorporates physical strength well and showed solid bat speed and strength in live action. Connected for a home run to pull side, occasionally gets to front side early but when on time creates solid carry off the barrel, easy bat speed with quickness to hands, patient approach in the box and won't expand, shows comfort working to the opposite field. Named to Northeast Top-Top Prospect List.
