Tyler Scataglia is a 2018 RHP/UT with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Summer Creek High School. Younger player with a lean, slender build, broad shoulders, athleticism, and room to continue to fill out physically and add strength. Posted a 6.98 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary right handed pitcher, started with a high leg raise past belt, stays tall on backside, works downhill well, long, loose arm action, and threw from a high three quarter arm slot. Stays online with good extension through the ball. Creates good angle with fastball at 80-84 mph with occasional cut action. Curveball showed 11/5 shape at 73 mph with sharp, short break. Worked quickly and around zone effectively. Secondary infielder, threw from an over the top arm slot, clean transfer, showed range up the middle, and arm strength up to 81 mph. At the plate, used a larger leg lift timing mechanism and a very aggressive approach. Looked to pull the ball and showed raw bat speed into swing. Inconsistent timing limiting results at present, calming down trigger and simplifying approach will lead to more consistency.
