Martutartus is a 5-7 infielder from California who impressed us as a high energy type of player. Martutartus’ best tool right now is his speed, he’s a sub 7.00 runner with nice first step quickness that he uses aggressively on the bases. Despite his young age, Martutartus does a nice job at the plate. He handles the bat head very well and doesn’t try to do too much. He used this approach and his speed to get 4 hits in the two showcase games. Martutartus showed us some nice defensive skills in the games too, playing both shortstop and third base. His quick feet give him good balance and range, he has soft hands and his arm strength played much better in game situations than in infield drills. We can’t help but think that Martutartus is a gamer based on his performance. He’ll need to gain plenty of more strength but he has plenty of time to do that. Martutartus is also a solid student.

WP - Brian Martutartus is a 2007 MIF from La Costa Canyon HS in California. Brian has a lean and lively body that is still maturing. Brian has very good actions, quick feet, and good hands to handle either MIF position. His swing is compact and generates solid contact to all fields with good bat control. Brian is also aggressive early in the count. Brian plays hard with a great idea of how to play the game with energy. He will not be intimidated. Brian is a fiery player with upside as his body matures. He is a player to keep an eye on.

Brian is a very young '07 MIF/OF from Carlsbad, California with a small, lean 5-6/115 lb. frame to build on. He is very young in age, but he has a big heart and shows no fear about confidence in his abilities. He is an aggressive player who attacks the game and doesn’t look for any excuses. At the plate he has a short swing with nice weight transfer and some bat speed. He shows to be very coachable and makes proper adjustments when instructed. Defensively, he shows sure hands and the mobility needed to play an infield position. He has a good foundation and just needs the time to mature and strengthen his game. He will be one to watch closely as he gets older. Brian is a good student.
