2016 West Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Bryan Pope is a 2017 2B/RHP with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Ladera Ranch, CA who attends San Juan Hills HS. Solid frame and build, has room to continue to fill out and add strength to his frame. hits from a square stance, early preset load, keeps hands back well. Line drive swing plane with solid contact, mostly mid field to pull results. Hands are quick and swing are loose and creates good bat speed. Consistently found the barrel. Defensively, sure footwork and actions, comes through well, has clean transfer and release with accurate throws. Also pitched. Well paced delivery with good direction to the plate. High 3/4 arm slot , fastball was up to 86 with good run down in the zone. Had a little hand wrap in back but arm worked well. Curveball showed 11/5 shape with good tighness and downer shape. Showed well as two way player. Excellent Student. Named to Top Prospect List at West Coast Top.
