Pearce Simmons is a 2019 LHP/1B with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Ruston, LA who attends Cedar Creek High School. Medium build, long, lean frame with athleticism and room to continue to fill out physically. Primary left handed pitcher, utilized a long arm action, good extension and finish through the ball, and threw from a three quarter arm slot. Landed slightly closed down the mound, could use additional lower half drive, and repeated mechanics well through delivery. Fastball worked 71-74 mph with arm side life and slight sink to the lower third of the zone. Maintained arm speed well for 68 mph changeup with arm side fade. Also showed a 2/8 shaped curveball at 66 mph. Also worked out at the plate, started even to sightly open, lower hand set, and active at load. Hits off front side at times, balanced at the point of contact, and showed an up the middle approach with a positive launch angle. Additional strength will help make consistent hard contact.
