Brayden McLaughlin is a 2018 OF/RHP with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Forest Grove, OR who attends Forest Grove. Large frame with long limbs and an athletic build. Frame projects to support additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran a 7.30 sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with deliberate footwork while closing to and working through the baseball. Funnels baseball off to side cleanly and works through exchange well. Long arm circle at separation and released from a three-quarters slot. Throws generated uphill carry to the bag topping at 75 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a spread, open stance. Stays on back side with rotational lower half actions to contact. Loose, extended hand path contact with a level barrel plane through extension. Consistently barreled up baseball throughout batting practice primarily working to the middle of the field and opposite field gap. Also pitched showing a simple rock step to high leg lift delivery. Stays tall on back side with slightly coil over back leg at gather. Loose arm circle at take back and released from a high three-quarters slot. Stays in line with the plate through finish. Fastball flashed occasional tilt to the bottom of the zone in the low to mid 70's, topped at 75 miles per hour. Primarily looked to filled the bottom quadrants of the zone and challenge hitters.
