Nick Schmidt is a 2018 RHP/IF with a 6-3 195 lb. frame from Wentzville, MO who attends Wentzville Holt HS. Nice pitcher's build, strength in his lower half with plenty of room to get stronger in his upper half. Fast paced delivery with some effort at release, can slow down his mechanics to become more consistent, high 3/4's arm slot. Upper 80's fastball, mostly straight, tends to pitch up with his fastball due to the pace of his delivery. Curveball shows tight spin and hard downer break when out front with it. Quality change up with nice arm speed and sink. Has the secondary pitches and arm strength to become a top level prospect with adjustments. Has a chance as a two-way prospect as a third baseman, has athleticism and obvious arm strength on defense. Right handed hitter with a loose and extended swing, good present bat speed with a power approach. Will continue to improve.
